ELECTRO ACUPUNCTURE AND REFLEXOLOGY

As an important part of Chinese culture, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has evolved into a unique and complete medical system during the long history of China. Similar to other traditional medicines in the world, TCM has evolved over the centuries as Practitioners sought new methods to prevent and cure diseases. TCM has made great contributions towards healthcare systems and today it is becoming an accepted science on a par with Western Medicine. Electro-Acupuncture and Electro-Reflexology are recent developments of TCM. (*32)
ELECTRO ACUPUNCTURE
Electro-Acupuncture has been around since the 1920s and was re-introduced into Medical practices in the early '70s. The concept of Electro-Acupuncture is similar to that of Traditional Chinese Acupuncture; it simply uses deep piercing fine currents rather than needles, to stimulate the body. If one views the human body as a large electrolytic system, tests have shown that Acupuncture Points have lower electrical resistance and a better electrical capacitance than normal skin, with complex electrochemical reactions. Acupuncture works on the principle that there are fourteen zones running the length of the body from the head to the foot and within these zones, there are approximately eight hundred tradition al Acupuncture points (a point of stimulation where there is an effect upon an organ or tissue). Energy from the internal organs is said to circulate around the body through these channels. Where there is an imbalance in the system it indicates illness or blocked pathways. When Acupuncture points are stimulated either manually or with electrical pulses the body is encouraged to rebalance, the energy pathways along meridian channels are unblocked and restored, thus allowing the energy to flow freely along the meridians. ELECTRO REFLEXOLOGY
Reflexology is the application of pressure to areas on the feet (or the hands). Reflexology is generally relaxing and may help alleviate stress. There are ten zones in the body; zones are longitudinal lines of energy climbing from the feet to the brain. The treatment will relate to a specific zone which refers to exact areas opened through the nerve endings with Trans-cutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation.
The diagram below shows the map of the feet from the plantar perspective. If you view the feet as one and locate the upright midline, the brain is at the very top of the two big toes with the spine at the center and the organs situated symmetrically or organically down the sole.
Thus, Reflexology can be viewed in its most complex but also simplest form. This simple yet full science is a safe and highly effective form of treating the body without the use of drugs or surgery. Electro-Reflexology is thought to be effective for the relief of generalised and local pain, migraine prevention, premenstrual tension, anxiety, stress, depression, drug withdrawal, improvement in blood circulation, increase in the lymphatic system dispersing the body of toxins, and releasing nutrients to the tissues and organs.
