COLLAGEN INDUCTION THERAPY (SKIN NEEDLING)

Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) or skin needling, is a treatment that uses microfine needles to gently puncture the skin. This process stimulates the skin’s natural healing response, resulting in the production of collagen and elastin to create smoother, more rejuvenated skin. CIT can be used inconjunction with PRP to treat wrinkles, large pors, scare management and many more. There are three phases to the wound healing response:
  • Phase I: Inflammation. Piercing the skin triggers your immune system to disinfect the wounds, remove debris, increase blood flow and begin to create new tissue.
  • Phase II: Proliferation. The wound is re-built with new granulation cells, which are part of the extracellular matrix. Additionally, a new network of blood vessels develops.
  • Phase III: Remodelling. The wound is replaced with new dermal tissues and blood vessels.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?

Prior to your appointment, purchase your Home Kit which will include an anaesthetic cream for you to apply onto cleansed skin. You may choose to apply this in the clinic, arriving 10 minutes before your appointment or at home.
You will be called into one of our treatment rooms as the anaesthetic starts to kick in.Lie back as you are guided through the treatment by one of our professional skin therapists.After the treatment, a soothing gel will be applied to the skin.
Finish your treatment at home! Apply the face mask provided in the Home Kit and allow it to sit for 15 minutes. Next, apply the rescue cream 2 times daily for the next 3 to 4 days.
