CONTRAINDICATIONS AND PRECAUTIONS
Ultratone treatments are suitable for most healthy people because it is very similar to the natural stimulation impulses of the body, but precautions should be observed as with any form of electrical stimulation treatments.
Precautions:
Clients are requested to inform the therapist if, at any time during their course of treatment they are being treated by a Doctor, or taking part in prescribed medication.Electrodes should not be placed across the skull.Use only with the output leads connected to Ultratone approved pads.Although you may drink while having your treatment, it is not best to eat as the vigorous nature of the exercise could cause indigestion.Do not smoke while having treatments. The equipment should not be used:
- With implemented cardiac pacemakers.
- When epilepsy is suspected or diagnosed.
- Over a pregnant uterus (where the foetus is over 6 weeks old).
- Over protruding moles and varicose vein knobbly areas.
- When there is Thrombosis or Phlebitis (blood clot or inflammation of the veins) unless medically advised.
- Over an open wound, unless medically advised.
- When cancer is known to be present unless medically advised.
- When pain is undiagnosed.
- When muscle contraction may disrupt the healing process.
- In cardiac cases, Ultratone should not be used on the upper torso, (eg: upper abdomen, chest, arms or back).
- On the breast area if there are silicone implants.
GENERAL PRECAUTIONS:
- Keep the Ultratone equipment out of the reach of children.
- Although you may drink while having an Ultratone session it is best not to eat as the vigorous nature of the exercise could cause indigestion.
- Ultratone should not be used while driving, operating machinery, or during any activity in which involuntary muscle contraction may be hazardous.
- Prepubescent young people should not use Ultratone unless medically advised.
- During heavy menstruation, Ultratone Stimulation may increase blood flow therefore it is advisable to avoid padding up the abdominal area at this time.
WARNINGS:
- Apply only as indicated in the instructions for use.
- Electrodes should not be placed across the skull unless medically advised.
- Use only with the output leads connected to Ultratone approved pads.
- A non-approved power adaptor may compromise user safety.
- The equipment should not be connected to the body with high-frequency equipment and the equipment should not be operated within one meter of high-energy radiating equipment such as short-wave therapy equipment.
